Course structure

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) MA-BUSADM3 is a nested program incorporating the Graduate Certificate of Business Administration [available 2017 only] (GC-BUSADM2) and the Graduate Diploma of Business Administration (GD-BUSADM3)*. To qualify for the award of Master of Business Administration students must complete 12 units of study (150 credit points) comprising:

  • 4 core stage 1 units (50 credit points)^
  • 2 core stage 2 units (25 credit points)
  • 2 core stage 3 units (25 credit points)
  • 4 elective units of study (50 credit points) with at least 2 units at Masters level

*Students are unable to enrol directly into the Graduate Diploma of Business Administration but it is available as an exit award. To qualify for the award of Graduate Diploma of Business Administration (GD-BUSADM3) students must complete eight units of study (100 credit points) comprising:

  • 4 core stage 1 units (50 credit points)
  • 2 core stage 2 units (25 credit points)
  • 2 elective units (25 credit points)

In each year, eight units (12.5 credit points each) normally constitute a full-time load of 100 credit points and four units normally constitute a part-time load** of 50 credit points. ^Students admitted based on successful completion of the Graduate Certificate of Business Administration are not required to repeat these four stage 1 units. **Students holding an international student visa are required to study full-time and on campus.

Credit for prior study or work

Credit is granted in recognition of previous study and/or experience and allows students to gain advanced standing towards their course. Applicants are assessed on a case-by-case basis. Learn more about credit.
